The jury convicted Jernigan of armed bank robbery and for showing a firearm during the heist. She was sentenced to 14 years in prison.In July, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Jernigan should be granted a new trial, given the possibility of mistaken identity.
